COMPASSION: Special Message from His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama is a “sonic journey” designed to bring deep feelings of inner peace to the listener. COMPASSION is the first musical collaboration and recording in history to fuse the ancient chant traditions of East and West, and was conceived and produced by renowned cello-soloist Michael Fitzpatrick, who provided the sacred music for the historic Gethsemani Encounter of East and West led by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. COMPASSION features a Special Message from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the voice of the late Thomas Merton, the music of Tibet’s Drepung Loseling Monks, the Abbey of Gethsemani Schola, revered for its Greorian chant, cello solos by Fitzpatrick, and Millenia Music’s soaring instrumentalists. It was recorded and filmed inside the largest cave in the world, Mammoth Cave, as well as inside the Abbey of Gethsemani and within the Furnace Mountain Zen Temple.
